Thank you for your interest in supporting mental health and Distress Centre Calgary. With your generous support and hard work, Distress Centre can continue to provide compassionate, accessible and resiliency-based services focused on intervention and prevention.

To ensure the success of your initiative (event, activity, product, portion of sale, etc.), please complete and submit this application at least one month before publicizing or hosting your initiative. This form will help you consider all the fine details and it will help us understand your goals. Please fill out as much information on the form as you can. Once we receive your submission, we will contact you to provide support as best as we can.

Important notice - Tax receipts

If an individual or business is selling product(s) and/or service(s) and marketing a percentage or dollar amount will be directed to a charity, they are benefiting from the marketing campaign; therefore, it is not considered a true donation. 

Contributions made from the sale of product(s) and/or service(s) are not eligible to receive a tax receipt. View CRA cause marketing regulations. 

Important notice - Marketing

Distress Centre’s name or logo is not permitted on any product or product packaging. All promotional materials must clearly state the percentage of proceeds or portion of ticket price that will be contributed to Distress Centre. Distress Centre does not endorse the product(s) and/or service(s) on behalf of the individual or business.

Please note: Distress Centre's name and logo are the sole property of Distress Centre Calgary. Distress Centre does not permit the use of our logo for community initiatives unless we have provided written permission. All materials featuring the name (electronic or hard copy), or when our logo is used must be approved by Distress Centre. Our Strategy & Engagement team is pleased to discuss these details with you.

Please note: Distress Centre cannot guarantee a representative to attend each community initiative fundraiser. Please provide a minimum one month's notice in order to provide enough time for Distress Centre to meet your request to the best of our ability. 

Please note, Distress Centre cannot guarantee collateral pieces to each community fundraising initiative. We encourage all fundraisers to provide a minimum one-month notice in order for Distress Centre to meet your request to the best of our ability.

Terms and Conditions:

  • Community Fundraiser organizer(s) can only refer to Distress Centre as "Proud Supporter of Distress Centre Calgary" or "In Support of Distress Centre Calgary" within your initiative;
  • Use of  Distress Centre's name and logo are permitted only with Distress Centre's approval;
  • Distress Centre must review and approve all promotional materials (including, but not limited to, letters, brochures, press releases, flyers, digital content and advertising) prior to distribution;
  • Distress Centre’s logo must not be altered in any way;
  • Distress Centre’s name is not permitted on any product or product packaging;
  • Community fundraisers are to contact Distress Centre immediately if the fundraising initiative is picked up by the media (tv, radio, print and/or other);
  • Community fundraisers are not permitted to speak on behalf or represent Distress Centre to the public or media;
  • All promotional materials must clearly state the percentage of proceeds or portion of ticket price that will be contributed to Distress Centre;
  • Distress Centre reserves the right to withdraw the use of its name at any time;
  • Distress Centre is unable to provide limited technical support;
  • Distress Centre does not create or post social media content on behalf of the community fundraiser;
  • Distress Centre does not create digital assets on behalf of the community fundraiser;
  • Distress Centre does not solicit media or send press releases on behalf of the community fundraiser;
  • Distress Centre cannot provide volunteers or event support to community fundraisers;
  • Distress Centre does not promote the sale of item(s) and/or service(s) on behalf of the individual or business 
  • Only the final net proceeds will be processed by Distress Centre. Under no circumstances will third party revenues and expenses flow through Distress Centre;
  • Distress Centre is not financially liable for any promotions or event expenses;
  • The organizer that is the subject of this agreement shall indemnify and hold harmless the Distress Cntre Calgary, its officers, directors, and employees, from and against any and all claims, liabilities, costs, fines and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of any claims or suits, or threats of suits, which may be brought against Distress Centre for any reason whatsoever in connection with any promotion, including, but not limited to, claims related to personal injury related to the promotion. The organizers' obligations hereunder shall survive the termination of this agreement.

Distress Centrey does not permit the following types of fundraising in a third-party or cause marketing context:

  • Events that encourage/involve behaviour that is counter to Distress Centre’s mission and/or programmatic activities;
  • Events involving the promotion or support of a political party or candidate, or those which appear to endorse a political activity;
  • Direct solicitation (including, but not limited to, door-to-door canvassing, telemarketing or internet).

We will review your application in the next 5-10 business days. If accepted, we will provide you the use of a Distress Centre's name and logo.
